Sean Williams is definitely worth trying. I happen to think that Saturn Returns (the first of the Astropolis trilogy) is not the best he's done. The Evergence trilogy (written with Shane Dix) is a lot of fun. The Orphans of Earth trilogy starts well, but gets a bit samey - although the ending is good. The Geodesica diptych is pretty good. Cenotaxis I was... a bit ambivalent about. It had some nice bits in it, but other parts didn't work for me.
