What this is all about

You've seen these types of things on virtually every other board you've been on, so why not?

What this is all about

Here is where you play all those little games that serve to gel many on-line communities, give you a place to brag, and are just plain fun. I'll get us started off, but don't be shy if you have a good one you like!

One word (or phrase, actually):

Mochi pizza. :D

Never had it. But I did have deep-fried mochi that was then stuffed with sandwich stuff. That was pretty tasty with a beer and some edamame (sp?)

Ice cream? Dude...what drugs are you on today? :D

Mochi RICE CAKES.

You put down a layer of them (cubed) in a pan and cover them with a layer of tomato sauce and cheese and your favorite pizza toppings and cook in a 190-degree (C) oven for 15 minutes or so. (Leave an area for expansion around the edges, cause the mochi exPAND!)

Scarf down while hot. :D

(Because once it cools, it's suitable for use as a building material, I kid you not.)

Omph! My apologies!

You were talking about yukimi daifuku, ice cream inside a soft mochi covering. My bad!

Not exactly the same kind of mochi, though. The outer covering for those is made of mochi rice mixed with powdered regular rice and sugar. I'm talking about the white bricks you have to grill or heat before they're edible.

B: trying to figure out what you had. (You were in Kansai/Osaka, right? Or am I muddling? Slightly different cuisine over that way.)

Anyway, edamame is right. Otherwise known as green soybeans. ;)

Thanks.

For a few years there I had a garden at my place on 26th street. I grew basil for pesto, hot peppers and a shit load of herbs and soy beans. Those little fuckers were good!

De nada.

A few summers back I got a pack of seeds at Joyful Honda (don't ask...please) and grew me a mess. Boiled them with lots of salt and had them with a few bottles of Kirin Classic. Yum.

(I miss salt. )
