Chapter 32

Post by Freakzilla »

We witness a passing phase of eternity. Important things happen but some people
never notice. Accidents intervene. You are not present at episodes. You
depend on reports. And people shutter their minds. What good are reports?
History in a news account? Preselected at an editorial conference, digested and
excreted by prejudice? Accounts you need seldom come from those who make
history. Diaries, memoirs and autobiographies are subjective forms of special
pleading. Archives are crammed with such suspect stuff.

-Darwi Odrade

Murbella goes into labor just as Teg is about to get his memories restored. He is taken into a sealed room and stripped naked by Streggi, Odrade, Duncan and three strong proctors sit in a hidden observation room watching. Sheeana enters in a see-through nighty which she takes of and begins to imprint Teg. The deep conditioning against imprinting by Teg's mother restors his memories and he uses up his super-speed in one burst to get away from Sheeana. They give him back his clothes and let him out, Teg tells Odrade that he may not do battle the way she expects. When Streggi returns she anounces that Duncan has another daughter and both her and Murbella are doing fine. Streggi is sent to get food for Teg which he devours. Odrade realizes that Murbella was right, the Bene Gesserit must relearn emotions, if they remain only observers they are doomed. Teg admits that he can't explain what happened to him on Gammu and that in one heartbeat he could clear the room and be on the way out of the no-ship. However he says he's still Odrade's obedient dog. Odrade wonders what she's unleased. She tells Teg they have two million troop specially trained by Burzmalli and warns him that he had twice that many at Lampadas when the whores obliterated them. Teg asks to be left with Duncan to plan against the Honored Matres. He admits to Duncan that they are both potential Kwisatz Haderachs but must not go there.
They were destroyed because they lied pretentiously. Have no fear that my wrath
will fall upon you because of your innocent mistakes.
