Pontypool

Post by Omphalos »

Just saw a strange lil film called Pontypool, about an outbreak of an infection in Ontario, Canada. It's a semiotic zombie flick. Now I want to read the book it came from. Anyone see it yet?

First I've heard of it, I guess it was pretty good if you want to read the book?

It's an independent/cult flick, so it has Problems but it was interesting.

Something set in Canada eh? Thanks for bringing this up, I'll definitely want to see it. :D
I deleted some of your posts because they were derailing the topic and not focusing on the issues asked, and instead going after the authors or their material. That's why. ~ BM

Pontypool's a cool wee flick, sure the scope is limited but I loved the DJ.
Look, I'm not much good at big speeches, and I know I haven't always been an easy guy to get on with, and I know, that given the choice, I wouldn't have chosen you as friends, but I just want to say, that over the years, I have come to regard you as people I met.

I watched something similar yesterday, some obscure little movie from the 80's, can't even remember the title now. Had Sam Waterston from Law and Order in it, looked like a made for tv movie. Genetic engineering lab, germ gets loose, seems to kill people but they only go into a coma state, then wake up and behave like kinda-sorta zombies, with extreme agression and clumsy jerky movements. It was kinda crap, but I was bored.
