I am so past caring about all this shit these days. It honestly reminds me of this local vote tally we have here in Sacramento every year in the local rag The News and Review (for those who visit us here one day, if you need a pot dispensary or a prostitute, this is your go-to newspaper in the Sacramento Valley).

Every year they have this popularity contest where people vote for their "Best Of" in a couple hundred categories. Every year without fail crap like Wendy's winds up on the "Best Hamburger" category, or Starbucks on the "Best Coffee." Now, I'm not too much of a snob, and Sacrament aint a megalopolis, but comeon folks! There's better hamburgers and coffee out there then the corporate crap.

The Creative Loafing does the same thing in Atlanta. I don't think Wendy's has ever made it on their list, though. :lol=:

We have City Pages for that, but same here, we've not had it taken over by any of that kind of stuff.

We have the same thing here, but it definitely isn't shit like Wendy's and Starbucks winning!
I deleted some of your posts because they were derailing the topic and not focusing on the issues asked, and instead going after the authors or their material. That's why. ~ BM

It definitely depends on where you are. We had the City Paper in Washington DC, and for the 30 years I was there, there was none of that crap in it. But here in Sacramento its a different story. Depsite the fact that we are the center of government for an enormous region this is an ag town that has comparatively few cultured and/or higher-educated folks. So this is just the way things go here.

Check by the door at the local adult novelty store, I'll bet you do.

The Daily Snooze in Alamogordo does the same thing. Every year Taco Bell wins Best place to eat when you have to pay. :lol=:

So I take it that means the Hugo is not such a reference then.
In short, the Jihad is over. It ended just as SandRider predicted it would, not with a bang or even a whimper, by simple attrition.
