Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams

Here is the first book in the series.

Here is a link to a concordance/encyclopedia.

There is a better concordance out there. I just cannot find it now, but I will keep my eyes open.

Having the book online is awesome though. I'll have to look through it more when I get home.

Done. What an easy read but a laugh a minute.
Because Ford never learned to say his original name, his father eventually died of shame, which is still a terminal disease in some parts of the Galaxy. The other kids at school nicknamed him Ix, which in the language of Betelgeuse Five translates as "boy who is not able satisfactorily to explain what a Hrung is, nor why it should choose to collapse on Betelgeuse Seven".

will fall upon you because of your innocent mistakes.

Freak is that from one of the later books, I don't recall it from hitch-hikers book1.

I sincerely used to think this story was real, right up until puberty.

That's the very last line in Hitchhikers.

I bought this book ages ago, still haven't got round to reading it. I did see the film, though.

You could most likely read it in a day if you had nothing better going on. Great laughs.
