4th of July, 2008

Post by Omphalos »

Did everyone have a good 4th? We sure did here. I came to visit my parents in Sturgeon Bay, WI, with te wife and kids. We took the kids to see a parade in Fish Creek and watched some pretty decent fireworks over the Bay at night. Not too much beer was involved, so I may have to make up for that tonight. What did everyone else do?

Same ole same ole here, a work-at-home Friday.

Trimmed the low azalea hedge along the street side yesterday afton, thinking about building a deck thang today. ;) (Starting on one, at least. :) ) Looks to be a beeeyooteefool day here, today. (Has summer finally arrived in the Land of Nod?)

I worked and watched the local fireworks from the roof of the theatre.

Just put a kegger, a compound bow and a few trikes in the back 40 and they will gravitate towards that.

Just an ordinary day here. We pay no attention to colonials getting all excited about pouring tea into the sea.

I don't think that was supposed to have happened on July 4th. (If at all.)

But then, I wasn't there. ;)

I'da thunk that it'd be a cold day in Hell when the imperials dont get a little chubby over a giant cup of tea.

Yeah, relatives from Alabama are here for a week. It's really funny, the front yard has turned into an RV campground.

I still see fireworks as a pestilence over the lands of Quiet and Sane.

I celebrated, as you might've noticed from my posts over at Jacu', by having a nightmarish morning shift where I was barely able to stay awake.
"Brian! Brian! Brian!" goes the refrain. "A million deaths were not enough for Brian!"

I'm awake! God help me, I'm awake!

Had a good 4th. Used life vests as diapers and sat floating in a lake surrounded by cans of beer floating all around me, also fishing and canoeing.

No drownings, loss of vision, fires or car accidents to report here.

It was a Friday :)
