For those of you who participte in this usenet group (I do a very little bit) I have found a forum that has encoded a bridge between the usenet group so that it can be viewed in a forum. Here is the link:

There are some very knowledgable people there... they just haven't figured out that Newsgroups are dead.

A few of them are too rabid for anything but usenet.

The FAQ there is outstanding, we should preserve it somewhere for posterity.

I've got a major man-crush on Stoned in Arrakeen. Absolutely hilarious.

I like him too.

It seems like he's desperate to generate new topics or something.

Tony just wants to keep the thing alive. Lots of his questions start out innocent and goofy sounding, but some of them generate some good conversation. I used to follow the actual thread, but I think Im going to follow SciFi Cool now.

Ah.

Nothing much exciting except some boob trying to stir up the "Dune/Desert/Irraqis" thang  and news that Pail of Dung was referenced on Jeopardy.

Nothing from Tones, though, so it's a rather slow day on alt.fan.dune. :D

"A hackjob that not only strayed far from the series it is supposedly based on, but sold less copies than each of its predecessors"

"...........close enough."

Actually, I guess it was part of the clue/answer. The correct question/answer was probably something like

"Who is Brian Herbert?"
