Donnie Darko II

Saw an advertisement for a sequel to Donnie Darko the other day. Anyone hear anything about this?

It's aparently called S.Darko and it's about Donnie's sister.
WTF?!

American Psycho 2, anyone? Yeah, sound like a cash grab hanging on by a very thin thread.

Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdyPngBH6mM

Blatant cash-in... Might work as a stand-alone time-travel brain-blag - it's a hope.
And that, children, is how the little bunny rabbit got his fluffy white tail.

As a minimum, we must demand from SF that it be wiser than the world it speaks to.

Hell yeah. The frappuccinos and dried sushi from a studio homogenizing session are practically wafting from that trailer.

Exploit a sexy Hollywood flavour of the week? Check
Male lead that looks like Jake Gyllenhaal but obviously isn't? Check
Sexually suggestive shots? Check
Over-reliance on special effects? Check
Dump what made the first film in exchange for cheap thrills? Check
Straight to video release? Check

I'm guessing a 4.8 on the IMDB by the end of May :)

Disgusting.
