BSG Season 3

Post by SandChigger »

Just started last night. :P

Most memorable bits:

Starbuck in destructive domestic bliss with a Cylon (what's his name...I mean, model #?)!

And introducing Captain Appallo of the Battlestar Porkerass!

I actually fell for the fat suit at first.
I deleted some of your posts because they were derailing the topic and not focusing on the issues asked, and instead going after the authors or their material. That's why. ~ BM

yeah, I did too. Thought Barber had just gotten into the
Lindsay Lohen drug stash, got fat and addled, and they
were having to write the script around his fat ass.

I was impressed that they did all that on purpose.

That's really weird that you guys went landshark on me, 'cause I was thinking of making a dumb joke about "spacesharks" but decided not to. :P

Nah.

Where are they again? I'll be in the office again tomorrow with a fast connection....

(Added: I remember they've been mentioned here, and when Boomer was in Japan recently she mentioned them in the interviews as well. Hadn't remembered to look for them, though.)

My gawd ... I just watched the ... "The Way We Were (On New Caprica)" episode. :angry-cussingblack:

Damn, that was bad. The only good part was when Adama stepped up into the ring and told Chief to get his fat ass up there, too, then gave them the Stern Talk after Chief pounded him bloody. (Know which episode I mean, now? ;) )

Adama and Starbuck doing the nasty and then screaming their cold-pert tits off ALMOST made me change the channel.

Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Should I just stop watching again and wait for Season 4?

Of course not. Keep watching season three and you'll be rewarded. Season four is awesome.

Think of BSG like great sex. The fullness and overall reward of the act is diminished if you're constantly obsessed with sustaining the wave to orgasm. You need those breaks and shifts in position to mix it up and enjoy the softer moments. Then once you get back into it, you're reminded of the highs that you were somehow forgetting earlier when it was a much too pedestrian act.

Season 3 does lag a bit, but there are some awesome highlights in there too. The show does change in there somehwere too, from a space battle series to something more directed and goal-oriented. But I liked it all. So say we all!!!

I didn't catch the actual episode title ... but for some reason (all the flashbacks to when they were on New Caprica?) it made me think of "The Way We Were".

Sorry, my mind is odd that way. ;)

Missed a few episodes in a row, for one reason or another, but caught the one this last week with Chief (Tyrel?) being sent to the fuel refinery ship to get it running again and ends up leading a strike.

Oh, joy, more proles veersus aristos.

The highlight, though, was Chief & Cally's baby. What a potchari little tubbo! Stole the show in the scenes he was in. :D

I didn't like that episode. Being anti-union myself, the whole workers-of-the-world-unite theme was utter bullshit to me. It was also very annoying since Tyrol is one of my favorite characters. But luckily the theme was pretty much self-contained to that one episode since it was a rather stand-alone story, which makes it easy to ignore and skip :)

Maybe I wasn't clear enough: the baby was all I enjoyed.

I groaned inside as soon as I realized where it was going with the whole union thing. (Oh yeah: the "I'm not a farmer, I'm an architect" college kid coopted into refinery service. Who DIDN'T see the accident on the line coming a mile away? Shit.)

But it was slightly less painful than watching all the Apollo/Starbuck/dark chick/white dude (I can't be fooked trying to remember their partners names at the moment) back and forth several episodes back.

That was one of the episodes I didn't care for, either. There were a few stinkers in season 3.
