Life on Mars

OK, here is an odd looking program. It seems barely to touch on the genre, with a time travel element, though the trailer makes it look like they will be switching back and forth from the present and 1972. And hey, its got Chief O'Brien in it, so that can't be bad, right?

It looks like a David Kelley rewrite of a hit show from England. Anyone seen it?

i've see n couple of episodes, a bit fun fun with the brits poking fun at themselves in the 70's. Dunno about the Americanized version though.

Oh, great...That 70's Time Travel Cop Show?

As someone who was actually conscious during the 70s, trust me: they're vastly overrated today.

Gah.

I think that the hook is going to be a stylized version of the 1970's where absolutely none of the PC crap and overbearing legislation of our times exists. I imagine that he will run into a Huggy-Bear type or two though.

I thought that the British version looked a bit tongue-in-cheek, and that the American one ramped up the gravitas and "special meaning" (you were meant to come here, super cop!) stuff. Typical differences, but I think Ill give this one a try.

I will too just because Colm Meaney can chew through dcenery and actors in a style that Shatner only wishes he could :D
