It sounds positively gruesome to me. But then, we've established I'm a philm philistine. ;)
for when the flying saucer finally returns to Earth, all it has to offer humanity is a huge assemblage of adorable, animate stuffed animals, all ready to love us, and to be loved by us.
Too much to hope, I suppose, that they turn out to be those "disgusting things" from that Harlan Ellison story and proceed to fuck the human race into extinction? :D

I did like his point at the end, though.

Space is not warm or fuzzy and the universe is not a friendly place. Time for childhood to end.
