Hey I thought it was pretty cool. I don't know how it's going to tie in with the last movie very well, but I'm game. Not bad for a TV series. I'll give it a few more episodes before I fully judge it.

I kinda half watched it, it was OK. I seems like it would have made a good movie but I don't know how long they could hold my interest in a series. It seems like with so many series, once the original premise is done it just turns into every other show.

The goodness of Terminator, like Alien, ended with the closing credits of the first sequel.

But I loves Summer Glau

Well, I watched it. It wasn't too bad, not the greatest hour of television, but it was entertaining.

I think its going to be worth watching. I really like the twists they have added in the first couple of episodes. Like other human time travellers set up like cells, and strategically placed materials and equipment waiting for them. And I think its a good idea to have so many villains, like two terminators chasing them, the FBI, and ghosts from the past. For establishing episodes, I think that they did pretty good.

Although, they are going to have to edit that stupid FBI guy. I smell an agent Scullyesque blindness to the obvious truth here.

I also think its interesting that they are putting the male lead in the backseat and giving all the action and plot turns to the two women. They will have to change that probably, or risk turning John-Boy into a whuss.

Finally watched the first episode online, bloody cold meant i was asleep when it aired, but not bad. I'm with Omph in the set up so far. By having John take a back seat we could get some "mommy" issues and he could grow into his future role.

Hmmm. Well, I wasn't very impressed. I rarely am with prime-time shows. Wonderful lines like "Get the guns, I'll make pancakes" I can definately do without as they are so incredibly cheesy you can hear a collective "groan" across my neighborhood. I found it to be extremely so-so.

I mean, the Bint on beans...not pretty.

The Chiglets seem to have this sixth sense and can tell when she's getting ready to rev up the "Gatling Gun" and head off into better ventilated areas of the sietch.

I think the show is getting better, I liked last night's episode. I loved the part where the terminator thing came out of the tub.. creepy!

I DVR'ed it for later viewing and havent seen last night's episode yet, but I heard from a friend that this show beat American Idol (both nights) last week. That is something else, no?

I'll have to catch it online later this week. It does have promise and anything that beats that pile 'o poo Idol is fine by me

I watched the episode, and I have to say that it was pretty damn good. Plus, the pregnant chick from The Shield is in it now.

Well, I dont think that she bought it at Ikea. She put a piece of Kevlar in the back for just such an emergency. Great idea.

I can't help but wonder, after she blasts the mean ol' terminator and they split, isn't there a bunch of terminator parts laying all over the place? Wasn't that a big issue in the movie; they had to get the hand and the chip or something? So now, they are not only going to have to stop skynet in 2007, but retrieve all of those terminator parts to make sure nobody makes a new skynet in, oh say, 2009 or something, right?

Seriously, its good cheap entertainment, but that show is pretty laughable.........

Now that brings to mind a proper target for a Terminator.

I don't get the gaga over Summer Glau. She is not that hot. I mean, sure
I'd hit it, but I can think of a couple score celebs off the top of my head who
are more impressive and more talented than Glau.

It has to do the affinity fans have for her character and the way they link that to the actor. It's not so much her looks, but how most fans came to know of her from Firefly/Serenity. I suspect for some she's the ideal female; strong and very capable but at the same time feminine, emotional and vulnerable. Of course, it could also be that she's simply the newest sci-fi darling and the fans all act like idiots around a good looking girl

Personally, I just find her performances extremely charming. She comes across as very sweet and almost soothing in the way she acts. She's also very graceful and her performance tends to appear very theatrical in motion but without the overacting.

It's hard to tune out the hype machine, ya know? I'm sure I'd feel differently
if I had seen Firefly/Serenity. (I'm working on it. )

I watched the episdoe last night of "Sarah Connor: The MILF Chronicles", it was pretty decent. I might come around on this show. I liked how they had the former doctor in it, and how they redid the video interview scenes with the new MILF, oops, I mean "Sarah." The terminator chick doing ballet was a bit cheesy for my tastes, but what can you do......

Well, having your scalp peeled back isn't exactly hot either.

I imagine Cameron will have some disability issues next season (or whenever they air it again). Probably just a head that John can carry around. Or they'll find some other toaster and salvage parts off of it for her.

OR...maybe it takes more than a silly firebomb to put Cameron down. Maybe she survives intact and chases him down the street while on fire. Regardless, I'm sure she'll "be back". It's Summer, ya know? No if they offed Lena I'd be PISSED!!

I thought it was great. I really have to give it to them: They did the right thing with that agent, slowly bringing him around to believe, even before he meets the misfits. And the Johnny Cash song at the end was perfect. Its inspired me to watch Dawn of the Dead remake tonight.

I wasn't overly impressed with the season finale. It just wasn't "epic" like a season finale should be.

I do agree about the Cash song, that was a nice touch.

The fourth Terminator film will start filming here in a few months, wonder how they will tie the series into it.

They're finally showing the first season over here. I've probably seen three or four of them now; forget what episode they're up to.

I wasn't overly impressed with the show. Linda Hamilton will always be Sarah Connor to me, but the new bint isn't too hard on the eyes. The kid John Connor annoys the hell out of me, the way he always seems to do the exact opposite of what his mother tells him. Fucking teenagers. And the bintette Terminator seems a bit too ribey for the job.

Then the other night I caught the episode where at the end Reese watches the Terminatrix dancing ballet, with the Sarah voice-over saying something like "When they can do all the things we can do they won't have to eradicate us. They will have become us."

OK, I'm hooked.

I was pissed when they canceled this show. Sometimes it was bad, and it meandered quite a bit, but overall I really liked it.

How many seasons did they end up making?

I know GP doesnt care for anything beyond T1/T2, and with Terminator:Salvation being the train wreck it is, it just heightens the level of pissed off I have for them canceling the show. Season Two was meandering in the middle but got back on track.. and I genuinly felt they were trying to act and make a quailty show.

To be fair, television series are a different beast altogether. Modern television series do enjoy larger budgets and better talent compared to eras past, but adapting a film to television is still taking a relatively free concept on film and confining it to the demands of broadcast.

One of the reasons I despise television as much as I do is because it's so constraining, because more than any other medium, television typically panders to the lowest common denominator. It has to, since "everyone" watches it (*snort*). Whereas with film, music, or literature, where you can create far more daring and focused material, television must appeal to all and thus rarely achieves any greatness. Worst of all, television must appeal to a rather sizable portion of the population who wouldn't be caught dead watching something like The Terminator in a theatre.

You know that "magical" untapped market that lined up to watch The Passion of the Christ? That is the demographic watching and enjoying the worst of television because it's safe, inoffensive, facile and homogenized.

Taking an R-rated film about a time-traveling killing machine and translating it to a G-rated television series where no one can even say "fuck" is not my idea of a good idea.

Having said that, I will admit things are changing. HBO in particular is a shining example of creating successful television without the mass market in mind, which has correspondingly resulted in some of the greatest television ever made (like The Wire). If HBO did the Deadwood version of Terminator on television, I'd probably be the show's biggest fan

I was repulsed by the pilot but immediately hooked. Currently viddying season 4 on FoxCrime.

I never did get to watch much of Dead Like Me, Deadwood, or The Sopranos, despite an interest in doing so. In some smaller ways, television is beginning to reach the same state in which film, music and literature have existed since before I was born: more good material than there is time to enjoy

I saw the first season of Dexter when it was rebroadcast on late-nite CBS a few years ago. I loved it too. Almost made me decide to pay for TV. Almost.
