Bujold as Janeway looks like a nun...

Kindda glad Mulgrew took the job...

I remember that she was on the job for a few days before Mulgrew took over. Word back then was that she walked without much explanation, rather diva like. Something about her being unable to handle the rigors of episodic television as opposed to a full length feature.

Mulgrew had to grow into that job too (as did captians on all of the various ships), and personally I hated the way she developed her character. She sounded too grandmotherly at times to me.

She would have been a good natural Cardassian with that forehead of hers. That's probably why she left. :P

Edit: Geez, I was thinking that her delivery may have been a bit better when they filled in the background sounds, but as you can tell that is not really the case.

Given the utter disgrace to entertainment that was Voyager, anything would have been an improvement :)
Still, it's hilarious to see everyone around Bujold over-acting while she's holding in the reigns. Bujold's reserved and disciplined performance reminds me very much of what Edward James Olmos would be like were he an actress. Casting Bujold was a missed opportunity; they should have thrown out their concept of Voyager once they saw Bujold in action and went in a completely different direction. Of course, that would have been daring and extremely risky, requiring possibly recasting the entire crew and building entirely new sets.

Then again, the string of lousy Star Trek shows in the late 90's and early 2000's set the stage for an audience tired of technobabble and cheesy dramatic excess. A stripped down, gritty and hard-edged sci-fi series would later come to fulfill audience expectations via Ron Moore's re-imagined Battlestar Galactica. So we're definitely all better off :)

BTW, Rick Berman sounds as slow as his skills at producing

Speaking of doing ST characters, I recently got around to reading an article in an old Hustler about a company that makes androids for "adult entertainment". They're not your dad's blow-up doll. I think the address was something like first-android.com. I tried to check it out but it's in German or something, but there are pictures. They were pretty realistic.

Sex with an ex-girlfriend was about as by-the-numbers as I can imagine it would be to fuck a robot. I swear I even checked for a pulse to remind myself she had a heart.

I think I could design an exciting love-bot. More exciting that a real woman even.

I think KJA has a love bot. He even has a robot-like name for it called "Reb" :)

If you were going to have a love-bot, wouldn't you want it to be good looking? He must have gotten that one for a very low price.

Her name reminds me of the old "Chester the Molester" cartoons from Hustler.

I suppose, but I try not to think about the fetishes of KJA :puke-huge:

"She just goes a little mad sometimes"

:)

Being mean to fat chicks is a product of spending years on AOL chat rooms.

What? Fat chicks need love too... but they gotta pay.
