The Little Goddess, by Ian McDonald

This one is a Hugo nominee from McDonald from a year or two ago. I was not too crazy about River of Gods, and I could not even get through Brasyl, but this one is pretty cool. Its a novella about a little girl who is revered as a God, then cast out in accordance with a long tradition, who then finds a form of godhood again. Well worth the time to read.
