Re: I am offended

Terminator + 1984 is the wrong analogy. Cameron + Berg + Bay + Shamalayan would be more apt. Translation: It will have lots of shiny sci-fi CGI, and it will have a moment where the characters almost try and address a human issue, and it might even move people with sub-par intelligence and then BAM! ...

Ok, I haven't read the John Carter of Mars series, but I'm fucking sick to death of Disney raping* ip's like this hoping for another blockbuster series. I was going to say the same thing, as soon as he started in on writing action scenes and how they had to feel natural and we had to care about the characters. Not in a KJA book, no.

We all know his 'research' involves a remote and a bag of chips.

Think of it this way: Actually, no don't think about it all. The normal FTL ships can move at a certain speed, but they still rely on human reaction speeds and limited sensors. So if anything gets in the way, they can't move out of the way if they are going too fast. Enter the stringline, which crea...

I think the primary difference is what you want something to do and how, and how much you are going to techbabble vs. theorize. Technobabble will get you so far, its like a nice warm blanket or a puppy, that no one will openly complain about. example: Foldspace. We're told that it works what it does...
