I like the way they dug up a load of old nuclear waste, mixed it around a bit, then quietly reburied under a plastic sheet. IIRC they are selling this as a reboot of the original series, not the shit 2001 remake (although it did have gorgeous armour design :) ) and they are on about doing sequels. It's all about the franchise!

I didn't think it could live up to the trailer... but it did, and sustained it throughout the entire film.

It was also refreshing to see a ~100% upbeat zombie movie, it was quite an achievement that the saddest moment in the film also got a big laugh :P

Saw it yesterday at the Bradistan Imax. Story-wise... enjoyable pulp - but it's not a 'dumb' movie, which is good. HD Quicktime trailer looked mediocre at best.
On a small crappy old cinema screen it looked alright.
On a big digital cinema screen it looked quite good.

Aronofsky's Robocop could be interesting, but the original was a fantastic ode to cinematic violence and the tragic Frankenstein myth served with a side of brilliant political/social satire. Verhoven's masterpiece will be tough to beat, but at least with Darren at the helm they have the right idea....

I've got one of the restorations on DVD, but it's annoying that some of the scenes are still missing - they're just replaced by cards explaining what's meant to be happening.
