Re: Chummy writers?
63. # Serkanner on 19 May 2010 at 3:40 pm Congrats on your election. If you, however, can’t stop the SFWA members from offering Anderson the “pity” award he has been craving for his entire dicta(wri)ting life it will mean the final end of the Nebula award as an award of any true value for the genre.

Will send the manuscript to the office so I can print it cheap and read it. Looks interesting indeed. Thanks for the hard work Omphalos

Re: Joe Haldeman named as the SFWA's 2010 Grand Master
I miss a name though: Haldeman is the 27th writer recognized by SFWA as a Grand Master. He joins Robert A. Heinlein (1974), Jack Williamson (1975), Clifford D. Simak (1976), L. Sprague de Camp (1978), Fritz Leiber (1981), Andre Norton(1983), Arthur C. Clarke (1985), Isaac Asimov (1986), Alfred Beste...

Re: Books in the pile
I have read the entire series way back. Most of them in Dutch however. I really like the series, especially the first four. The later sequels were less interesting but still interesting enough to buy and read. Like Freakzilla I would recommend these as well.

Re: Books in the pile
Well, i just finished reading Consider Phlebas from Banks and i really enjoyed it :)= I wasn't sure what to expect at first, i really got into it after the first third of the book and it became real interesting after that. I love the humor in it, reminds me a bit of Douglas Adams, although the stor...

It is as badly written as his "novels". BTW he mentions that awards were won with the Dune novels? Which awards were that?

The BBC version is brilliant. Watched the pilot for the US version and hated it. Should check out the Ashes to Ashes one. Haven't seen it.

About a year ago I lost both my internet and cable tv connection. My sister borrowed me her series one and two of LOST. At the time I was certain I would not like it. I was wrong! Very wrong. These series are the only thing ( besides football/soccer ) I like to watch on tv nowadays. Over here we are...

This is the most stupid question to ask in these forums here ... but does anybody have a link to the Arrakeen forum for me. I have lost it when my computer suffered from burn-out and died on me. I have tried to regain my lost bookmarks but one of the bookmarks I can't find anymore is the one of Arra...

(Didn't mean to cause a fuss!) I also read the House and Jihad series. That was enough to decide to never-ever read any book by KJA anymore. Got that.
