So many express disappointment with the book because they want to know all the background of the world and the characters, Cormac is way smarter though. He wanted ot tell a story about the relationship between a father and son. Simplicity that breeds complexity and deep thinking.

My grandfather was in the Home Guard, then he joined a 25-pounder crew in Germany in the closing weeks of the war. He stayed on afterwards, helping the MPs, and ended up as a clerk at Nuremberg. My other grandfather when he was sent to Germany ended up leading officers on hunting trips on Hitler's ...

You should look at Doctorow's website. If you found stuff that you would use in the class room there, you will find much, much more there. Doctorow has a huge online presence, and is outspoken on a several issues, including the free use of copyrighted material with a special set of rules to help wi...

Finished Little Brother from Cory Doctorow, overall well done lots of cool nifty real tech stuff, the last bit gets just a tad preachy and seems a bit to pat, BUT, I can see myself using this book in the classroom, along with 1984 and V For Vendetta. Currently reading HaltinG StatE by Charles Stross...

Unlike some authors where how the world ended up as it did would be the big idea McCarthy instead focused on two peoples relationship. In fact in several of his books, All the Pretty Horses for example,...
